Core Features
1. Quick Capture
Unclassified : Write without picking a category. Sort it later whenever it is convenient.
Classified right away : You can also save straight into a category — Event, Task, Project, Project Task, or Archive — while you write.
Timeline : Entries stack up in order, by date, as chat-style bubbles.
Auto title : A short entry becomes its own title. A long one gets its opening line as the title, with the full text kept underneath.
Kept safe : Once you classify an entry, that classified item becomes the real record. The original bubble stays only as a trace, so deleting it does not affect the classified item. Delete the classified item instead, and the trace bubble goes with it.
Edit anytime : Even something you already wrote can be edited later.
Common attachment options
Photo, camera : Take a photo on the spot or attach an existing one. Photos stay inside the app instead of your phone's gallery.
File attachment : Attach any file as is.
Voice recording : Record and play it back right away.
2. Sharing
Share as a card : Long-press any record, event, task, or project to turn it into a clean image card with the title and key details. Send it wherever you like — messaging apps, email, and more. (Photo or voice attachments only show as an "attachment included" mark, not the file itself. Projects show progress like "3/5 done" instead of listing every task.)
Send by email : Send any record, event, task, archive item, or project by email on its own. The full details and any photo, file, or voice attachments go along with it (up to 20MB total).
3. Receiving Shares From Other Apps
Receive a share : Tap "Share" in another app — a messaging app, a browser, and so on — to send text or a link straight into Orange Memo. The page title comes along with it too.
Saved as unclassified : Anything you receive this way is saved as an unclassified record first, with the original text and link intact. Classify it later whenever you like.
Automatic links : Write a URL, email address, or phone number in the details, and it becomes a tappable link automatically — opening the page, starting an email, or making a call.
4. Home Screen Widget
Today's tasks : See today's tasks right on your home screen without opening the app.
Bottom Tab Screens
5. Today
At a glance : See today's events, due tasks, and project tasks all on one screen.
Check off instantly : Mark things done right from this screen.
Pin : Pin anything important or urgent to the top.
Completed items settle : Finished items move down and fade, so what is left stands out.
6. Tasks
Create and edit : Manage personal tasks that do not belong to a project.
Status : Track tasks as In Progress, On Hold, or Done, and filter by status.
Due dates : Set a due date and it shows up automatically on Today and Calendar.
Attachments : Add details along with photos, files, or voice notes.
Pin : Pin as many "do this first" tasks as you need.
7. Projects
Group tasks : Create a project and group multiple tasks under it.
Status : Track projects as In Progress, On Hold, or Done, and filter by status.
Add tasks directly : Add tasks right from the project screen. Project tasks are kept separate from regular tasks, so nothing gets mixed up.
Pin the next step : Pin one clear "next action" for each project.
8. Calendar
Manage events : Create, edit, and delete events. All-day and timed events are handled separately.
Repeating events : Set events to repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. Title, time, and details can be edited anytime.
Deleting a repeat : Choose to delete just one occurrence or the entire series. Changing the repeat pattern itself, though, means deleting the old event and creating a new one.
Reminders : Timed events can send a reminder right on time, 10 minutes before, or an hour before (all-day and repeating events do not support reminders). The first time you turn one on, Android will ask for notification permission.
Menu (☰) — Search, Archive, Trash, Settings
9. Search
Search everything : Records, events, tasks, projects, and archive items all show up in one search.
Deep search : Finds matches in details, URLs, and email addresses, not just titles.
Filters : Narrow results with six filters — All, Records, Events, Tasks, Projects, Archive.
Date filter : Limit results to a specific date range.
Edit from results : Edit a record right from the search results.
10. Archive
A place to keep things : Store ideas or material you want to hold onto but do not need to act on right now — as text, photos, files, or voice notes.
Connected to classification : Classify a record straight into the archive, and everything there is included in search too.
Pin : Pin the items you check often so they stay at the top.
11. Trash
30-day hold : Deleted records, events, tasks, and more are kept in Trash for 30 days instead of disappearing right away.
Restore : Bring items back one at a time, or restore everything at once.
Permanent delete : Select multiple items to delete them for good.
Access : The menu shows how many items are waiting in Trash (the badge counts unclassified records, though tasks, events, archive items, and projects can be restored here too).
12. Settings
Language : Follow your system language, or choose Korean or English directly.
Login : Log in with Google or Kakao if you would like. While logged in, you can log out, or delete your account along with its data.
Security : Lock the app with fingerprint or other biometric authentication.
Google Calendar : Connect your Google account if you want to. Events made in Orange Memo appear in Google Calendar too, and any edit or delete syncs over right away. A dedicated Orange Memo calendar is created on the Google side, so your other calendars are left untouched. Sync currently runs one way, from Orange Memo to Google. You can disconnect anytime — events already created in Google stay put even after you do.
Data : Back up everything, including photo, file, and voice attachments, and choose where the backup is saved. Restore from a saved backup, bring in a backup from elsewhere, or export one to Google Drive, a file app, email, and more. Nothing uploads automatically to a server — you are always managing the files yourself. You can also erase all data on the device at once, regardless of account.
About : Check the app version and build number.
